​David joined The Travillian Group in 1999 and is currently the Managing Partner of the firm. David was the driving force behind establishing the firm as a premier provider of executive recruiting services to the financial services industry while it was an affiliate of SNL Financial (now S&P). As an independent entity, he continues to grow the firm’s presence within the space. Located in the firm’s Philadelphia area headquarters, David has a long track record working with investment bankers, corporate development executives, researchers & PM’s, commercial bankers, private equity professionals, and various other industry members.

David’s experience spans senior and mid-level appointments in super-regional companies to start-ups. His direct approach and entrepreneurial flair, combined with in-depth market knowledge, has led to strong client relationships and a growing base of business within the financial services industry.

David prides himself on playing a key role in all phases of the recruiting process which allows him to keep his hands on the pulse of the marketplace.

In the community, David is a Board Member of Kase’s Corner, a charity dedicated to fighting juvenile diabetes and other diseases by encouraging exercise and physical fitness.  He is also an active participant in the youth sports coaching circuit for his three boys.     

David holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.​

Steve Cohn has 25 years of expertise in executive search, assessment, leadership development, succession planning, compensation analysis and strategic insight.  He joined The Travillian Group in 2018 to develop our talent advisory offering and expand our buy-side coverage.   Prior to Travillian, Steve was a senior member of Options Group’s Hedge Funds search practice, with heavy focus on quantitative research and data science mandates.  He also managed the firm’s university outreach program (OG Scholar) and worked with the Chief Growth Officer to expand Options Group’s global footprint.  From 2011-2017, he was the head of talent advisory at Options Group, Sheffield Haworth and Marlin Hawk.   Prior to consulting, Steve was an executive search professional at Options Group from 1993 to 2009, where he specialized in such areas as technology, analytics, quantitative analysis, quantitative trading and quantitative portfolio management. His clients included investment banks and hedge funds in US, LatAm and EMEA markets.
 
Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University and a Master of Arts degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at University of Illinois, where he focused on cognitive ability and taught social psychology.  In 1990, Steve studied at Pontifícia Universidade Catôlica do Rio de Janeiro.  He speaks Portuguese and has worked with extensively Brazil-based clients.  Steve is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.  He enjoys reading psychology and management journal articles—including research on leadership, personnel selection, adverse impact, small groups and attitudes—and finding applications for what he learns.

Keith joined The Travillian Group as an Executive Recruiter in 2019 to assist the growth and expansion of the Depository Institutions division.  His responsibilities include developing long-term partnerships with mid and senior level executives, locating and screening top talent for clients, and generating new business for the firm.

Prior to Travillian, Keith was a Client Service Director for Robert Half Management Resources.  His focus was on fostering relationships with finance & accounting executives for strategic projects and interim senior level resource needs.  Previously, Keith worked in the New York City region in various managerial capacities including FP&A and Strategic Pricing for such companies as Wolters Kluwer, Hertz Global Holdings, and Kantar Media.  In these positions, he regularly interfaced with executives regarding overall financial strategy and execution of the company’s goals.  
 
Keith is active in the local Philadelphia community, with a dedication to helping support the cause of curing cancer, specifically Melanoma.  He is also involved with charities at his church to help families in need.   
 
​Keith graduated from the University of Scranton with a Finance Degree and also attained his MBA from Fordham University.

Brian joined The Travillian Group in 2014. He is the head of our Fixed Income search practice and, as of 2019, a member of the Banks & Credit Unions team. Brian has built Travillian’s Fixed Income practice into an industry leader, working with notable clients across the country to find top talent for their sales, trading, strategies and capital markets teams. His unique background in capital markets and fixed income, where many of his relationships were with depository specialists, has brought a unique skill set and perspective to the bank practice. Prior to joining The Travillian Group, Brian worked for Business & Decision, a global management, strategy consulting and systems integration group solving business problems through Digital Transformation. In this role, he provided consulting services for Fortune 500 corporations, led client training classes and was chosen to lead key special projects. 

Brian leverages his unique mix of recruiting, consulting, and training experience to bring a dynamic, thoughtful approach to each candidate and client relationship.
 
Brian graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Business Administration and Marketing Degree and was Captain of the Men's Soccer team. He’s an advocate for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and local youth sports. In his spare time, Brian enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with his wife, Alyse, and their daughter, Delaney.

Brian joined The Travillian Group in 2016 to lead the recruiting effort focused on Depository Institutions. In this effort, he leverages the experience gained from ten successful years in client facing roles within the banking industry. His focus on impeccable service, laser-focused sales management, and effective business development has led to loyal customers, repeat business, and a stellar reputation at each company he worked.

Prior to joining The Travillian Group, Brian was an Officer at Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, an AVP at Bank of America, and a VP at Customers Bank. In his 4+ years at Customers Bank, Brian enjoyed his largest successes as a deposit and loan gatherer and was consistently ranked as a top producer year after year. Brian embedded himself in the business community in the Greater Philadelphia region and helped small and mid-size companies achieve their goals. He worked very closely with leadership teams, CFOs, CEOs, and Controllers to deliver as much value and service as possible.

Brian also prides himself in being involved in his community as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Reading Tree of Reading, and Pottsgrove Little League. During his professional tenure, he has directed efforts in support of Valley Forge Military Academy, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute, and Philabundance. He also served on the Advisory Committee for Orion Communities in Phoenixville, PA which provides assistance and support to neighbors in need. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Main Line Chapter of the Fox Chase Cancer Center which raises money and awareness for cancer research.

Phylicia joined The Travillian Group to lead our FI Core Staffing Division. Her diverse background and previous career roles centered around assisting small business stakeholders with their human capital management. Before joining FI Core Staffing, she was a high-performer within ADP’s small business team, focusing on business clients’ payroll/tax, human resources advisory, employee retention, and employer benefit offerings. From there, she entered the commercial banking realm as an AVP, Small Business Banker for Santander Bank where she oversaw two production offices. Phylicia provided strategic and cost-effective solutions to small business clients with revenue ranging from $500k to $7MM, and also teamed up with Santander’s SBA division as a member of the Paycheck Protection Plan (PPP) evaluation process.

​Phylicia was a graduate of Shippensburg University in 2009 where she was a four-year recipient of a basketball scholarship. Following her undergrad, she went on to complete her masters at Shippensburg University in 2011 with a M.S. in Organizational Leadership and Development.

An Executive Recruiter based in the Philadelphia area office, Adam specializes in executing client searches focused across the financial services industry. His responsibilities include developing relationships with mid and senior level industry executives, interviewing and recruiting candidates for the client company, and negotiating employment agreements.

Prior to joining The Travillian Group, Adam was employed by Hirtle Callaghan & Co., a financial advisor focused on providing investment solutions for family groups and institutions through North America and around the world. He was an analyst in the Private Equity group, involved in all facets of the investment process; including the initial screening of investment opportunities, due diligence, and monitoring of portfolio companies. Adam also worked at SEI Investments as an Asset Movement Analyst, responsible for transitioning new clients into the company.

​Adam earned a B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and passed level 1 of the CFA exam.

Joe Fenech, Content Contributor

Joe Fenech has worked in the bank sector for more than twenty years.  He began his career in 1998 helping execute IPO’s for Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P., a leading firm serving the financial services sector.  In 2000, he moved to equity research, covering large banks for Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Prudential Equity Group LLC, honing his skills under the sector’s most prominent analysts.

Fenech returned to Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. in 2004 as a lead analyst covering bank stocks nationwide, serving in that role until 2014.  In 2014, he joined Hovde Group LLC, a top advisor to banks, to spearhead the buildout of the firm’s research unit.  Under this leadership, the firm built an award-winning platform, initiating coverage of over one hundred bank stocks.  In 2017, he was appointed to the firm’s Management Operating Committee, which was tasked with day-to-day management of the company.
​
Fenech is frequently interviewed by media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, American Banker, S&P Global Market Intelligence, and has been invited to share his sector insights with numerous Boards of Directors, and an industry conferences.  Fenech graduated with a Bachelor degree in Finance from James Madison University, and holds the following FINRA licenses:  7, 24, 63, 86, and 87.

Katie Durso, Research, Marketing & Operations Coordinator | kdurso@travilliangroup.com
Katie joined The Travillian Group with an extensive background in financial services administration, as well as experience in the banking and insurance industries.  Over the past 12 years, Katie has provided daily support of two successful planning practices, ranging from long-term projects to client service, and everything in between. Prior to her role in the financial services industry, Katie also worked for M&T Bank, Sovereign Bank and State Farm. She brings a wealth of experience and insight across the broad spectrum of the financial industry to her role at The Travillian Group.
 
In her personal life Katie is passionate about giving back. She believes in raising awareness and lending a helping hand to those in need. Katie co-founded and serves on the board of Homers For Hope, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity that raises funds to help local families in need. She also volunteers her time to advocate and fundraise for animal welfare and rescue, and other national charities such as Alex's Lemonade Stand. 
 
Katie currently lives in Delaware County, PA with her husband John.

Mark Hackett, Advisor
Mark is a leader for Nationwide’s capital markets analysis and thought leadership initiative, developing content to educate financial advisors and their clients on financial markets and implications for investors. In this role he is responsible for asset class research, market commentary, white papers and topical market pieces. He has been featured in numerous financial publications and webinars.

Mark brings more than 17 years of experience in the asset management industry, including roles in research for both Nuveen and Vanguard Group and as a portfolio manager for Nuveen. He began his investment career at the Vanguard Group as a research associate in the fixed income group.

​He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Economics at the University of Richmond, holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations and is a member of the CFA Institute.
